Deirdre Maine is a Franco-American glass artist working with upcycled and recycled wine bottle glass to create sustainably designed and produced contemporary jewelry. Using traditional kilnforming, casting and lampworking techniques, she transforms discarded wine bottles into wearable art in her full-time studio located in the French countryside.
Based in the heart of Burgundy's wine growing region, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Deirdre collects her raw material from the endless supply of used bottles generated by local wineries - giving a second life to an object destined for the waste stream.
